It means configuring a series of technical records (TXT and CNAME) so your domain can be used with services like email sending from external platforms. It’s not hard—and we’ll guide you through it step by step.

Step by step

1. Access your domain management panel

This is usually the website of the provider where you registered your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, DonDominio, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.).

2. Find the DNS configuration section

It may be named something like:

  • “DNS Management”

  • “DNS Zone”

  • “DNS Zone Editor”

  • “Advanced Settings”

3. Add or edit the DNS records

TXT Record (DKIM)

  • Type: TXT

  • Name / Host: mta._domainkey

  • Value / Key: Starts with k=rsa; p=MI... (this is a public key)

TXT Record (SPF)

  • Type: TXT

  • Name / Host: @ or leave blank if your provider suggests so

  • Value / Key: v=spf1 include:mailgun.org ~all

CNAME Record (Tracking)

  • Type: CNAME

  • Name / Host: email

  • Value / Key: eu.mailgun.org

4. Save the changes

There’s usually a button like “Save”, “Apply changes”, or similar.

5. Wait for propagation (optional)

Changes can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24–48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.

Below you’ll find how to add DNS records with some of the most common domain providers. The process is very similar across platforms, though section names and buttons may vary slightly. Just follow the specific steps for your domain provider:

🔹 GoDaddy

  • Go to My Products > DNS

  • Add a new record

  • For TXT: in “Name”, enter @ or mta._domainkey, and in “Value”, paste the content

  • For CNAME: in “Name”, enter email; in “Value”, enter eu.mailgun.org

🔹 Google Domains

  • Go to DNS

  • Under “Custom Records”, click Add Record

  • Select the type (TXT or CNAME)

  • Fill in the fields as described above

🔹 Namecheap

  • Go to Domain List > Manage > Advanced DNS tab

  • Add TXT or CNAME records with the values we provided
